AI Image Generator
This n8n workflow starts with a form submission. An AI agent turns the campaign details into a structured design brief, OpenAI generates the artwork, and Bannerbear composes the finished design on a template through HTTP requests.

01 / THE PROBLEM
The challenge.
Creating graphics for social posts and campaigns by hand takes time — writing the copy, generating the artwork, and laying everything out on a branded template for every single post.
02 / THE SOLUTION
The connected answer.
This n8n workflow starts with a form submission. An AI agent turns the campaign details into a structured design brief, OpenAI generates the artwork, and Bannerbear composes the finished design on a template through HTTP requests.
03 / HOW IT WORKS
Inside the logic.
The workflow is started by filling in a form — for example the title, caption and details of a campaign post.
A prepare step shapes that submission into a clean campaign brief, then an AI agent takes over. It uses an OpenAI chat model with memory and a structured output parser, so the brief comes back in a consistent format every time.
The structured brief drives an OpenAI "Generate an Image" step, which creates the artwork for the post.
The generated image is then sent to Bannerbear through an HTTP request, where it is placed into a design template with the text overlay. The workflow waits while Bannerbear renders, and a final HTTP request fetches the finished design.
The second picture on this page — a "Nigeria @ 66" independence poster — is an example of the kind of finished graphic this workflow produces.
- 01
On form submission
Campaign details are entered through an n8n form.
- 02
Prepare campaign data
The submission is shaped into a clean campaign brief.
- 03
AI agent structures the brief
OpenAI chat model with memory and a structured output parser turns the details into a consistent design brief.
- 04
Generate an image
OpenAI image generation creates the artwork from the brief.
- 05
Send to Bannerbear
An HTTP request sends the image and text to the Bannerbear API to compose the design on a template.
- 06
Wait
The workflow pauses while Bannerbear renders the design.
- 07
Fetch the finished design
A final HTTP request retrieves the completed image.
BUILD GUIDE
How to build it.
A practical guide to recreating this workflow in n8n.
- 01
Create the form
Add an n8n Form Trigger with fields for the campaign details — for example the title, caption, occasion and visual style of the post.
- 02
Prepare the campaign data
Use a Set (Edit Fields) node to clean the submission into a consistent campaign brief the AI can work from.
- 03
Build the AI agent
Add an AI Agent node with an OpenAI Chat Model, memory and a Structured Output Parser. Define a schema such as image prompt, headline and caption so the brief comes back in the same shape every time.
- 04
Generate the artwork
Connect an OpenAI "Generate an Image" node and use the structured image prompt as its input.
- 05
Connect Bannerbear
Create a Bannerbear account and a template with image and text placeholders. Add an HTTP Request node that POSTs the generated image and text to the Bannerbear API with your template ID.
- 06
Add the wait
Insert a Wait node so Bannerbear has time to render the design before the workflow continues.
- 07
Fetch the finished design
Add a final HTTP Request node that retrieves the completed image from Bannerbear.
- 08
Test and activate
Submit the form with a real campaign, check the generated artwork and the final composed design, then switch the workflow to Active.

06 / RESULT
What it demonstrates.
A workflow that turns a simple form submission into a finished, branded graphic: the AI writes the structured brief and generates the artwork, and Bannerbear composes the final design. The example poster shows the kind of output it produces.
